Impotence

Impotence, also known as Erectile Dysfunction (ED), is a condition in which men cannot get or keep an erection that is firm enough for sexual intercourse.

The chances of becoming impotent increase as men age. With ED, impulses from the brain and genital nerves are blocked or blood flow to the penis is restricted, preventing the penis from expanding/stiffening.

Men with diabetes are more likely to have issues with impotence, as the link between the two conditions is strong.

What are the treatments for impotence?

Since lifestyle choices contribute to ED, it is important to monitor your sugar levels, avoid excessive drinking and smoking, and avoid fatty foods.* Men who exercise regularly tend to decrease the risk of Erectile Dysfunction.*

To correctly diagnose ED, consult your doctor so that the proper treatments can be implemented.*

* Individual results may vary.
