Arthritis is the inflammation of one or more of the body’s joints.
What are the symptoms of arthritis?
Joint stiffness and pain. With age, these symptoms can feel more severe. Rheumatoid and osteoarthritis are the most common types. The rheumatoid version is an autoimmune disorder that targets the lining of the joints, while osteoarthritis causes cartilage to break down.
Other types can be caused by infections or underlying diseases.
What are the treatments?
Treatments depend on the type that you have. The goal with treatment is to reduce the pain so that it does not hinder your daily activities.*
